Circular Economy & Traceable

We are all acutely aware of the damaging effects we as humans are having on our planet, which has led to a rising demand for upcycling and circular economy materials. For the cosmetic industry, bi-products from the food industry that are considered waste offer an easy route to providing circular economy materials as these are already an established source of natural ingredients. That said, circular economy ingredients are not limited to using food bi-products as materials from other market sectors such as, the forestry industry where upcycled tree bark extracts are readily available.

Lucas Meyer Cosmetics offer a range of active ingredients obtained from a pure circular economy approach using recycled tree bark from the wood industry to develop high quality, natural and sustainable cosmetic active ingredients (Boréaline®).

Roelmi HPC on the other hand followed the more traditional route of taking a waste bi-product from the fruit juice industry to produce their range of circular economy waters (Cytofruit® Waters).

Sustainability is another every-increasingly significant driver, with many cosmetic and ingredient companies now pledging to use more plant-based/ natural ingredients in their formulations. We are proud to announce that a large proportion of the suppliers we represent here at Infinity already offer a vast array of full sustainable and traceable materials. Yes, you can literally trace many of our materials to not only the country of origin, but the field and actual tree/ plant that they came from. This is true for all of the Alban Muller, IBR and Southern Cross Botanicals products.

Alban Muller International strongly believe that the preservation of our environment and resources is never negotiable and on this basis they ensure that more than 70% of the plants are cultivated next to their production facility and that more than 90% of waste is recycled.

Roelmi HPC’s NIP (No Impact on Progress®) program applies to their entire range of products which confirms their total commitment to sustainability.

IBR (part of Lucas Meyer Cosmetics) IBR source their biomass in close proximity to the production site to reduce their carbon footprint and support local agriculture economy. They use only commercially cultivated crops, and therefore never destabilise the endemic flora or the wider environment by irresponsibly harvesting from the wild. On the contrary, IBR introduce the cultivation of new plants in a stable and sustainable manner. They use natural, green water based extraction methods so that no chemical solvents are used or chemical waste generated. All biomass waste generated in the production process is recycled as compost.

Southern Cross Botanicals (also part of Lucas Meyer Cosmetics) is committed to sustainable and ethical practices, showing the greatest respect for Australia’s unique biodiversity and indigenous populations. They proudly offer products that are Cosmos-certified, Organic and preservative free.
