Description
Infinity ingredients is the UK distributor of Evcide® PBS from Evident Ingredients.
Evicide® PBS is a versatile and powerful preservative mixture. It is composed of three safe and globally approved preservatives. On top of the preservatives there is natural Tocopherol present to protect the blend against discoloration. Phenoxyethanol belongs to the most popular preservatives worldwide, due to its mildness, pH-independence and little impact on formulations. However, in many cases Phenoxyethanol is not powerful enough on its own.
This has led to several blends, among the most popular using Ethylhexylglycerin or Caprylyl Glycol as a boosting agent. In some formulation concepts it is recommended to use organic acids instead of amphiphilic boosters, hence the mixture in Evicide® PBS may achieve better results especially at lower pH.
