PINEAPPLE EXTRACT H.GL. - M.S is produced from the fruit of Ananas sativus.
The moisturising activity of pineapple is due to its carbohydrates and α-hydroxyacids (AHA) content. The exfoliating activity of pineapple is due to AHA that acts at the stratum corneum level. They act on the cohesion between corneocytes in the deepest layers, so that they make the stratum corneum thinner and improve skin flexibility.
The collagen synthesis stimulating activity gives vitamin C wound-healing properties useful to treat injuries from trauma, skin burn or surgery. It is also beneficial for new tissue formation.
The cosmetic applications for Pineapple Extract are moisturising and emollient products, anti-ageing exfoliating and firming products, and hair colour and photo-protection products.
